Our client base ranges from home owners, building contractors, consulting engineers, local authorities, loss adjusters, architects, and the NHBC.

Traditional underpinning is usually applied when the existing foundations are at a shallow depth. It is economical if load bearing strata can be found at a depth of 1.5m. If load bearing strata is found to be at a depth greater than this then a mini piled solution is more economical, safer, less obstructive and faster.
Mini piling is cost effective and ideal for house extensions, conservatories and sun lounges. Mini piles are used when standard foundations are not suitable. Manor Foundations can offer a complete package for mini piling which include

? Full design package for your foundations
? Piling and ground beam construction
? Block work to DPC level
? Drainage installed
? Finished concrete floor
Benefits of mini piling
? Fast and effective service, normally one day for piling
? Competitively priced product
? Complies with building regulations
? Wheelbarrow access is all that is required
? minimal lawn and path disturbance
Screw piles are a foundation pile system well-suited to new construction applications, particularly where the ground is not suitable for conventional footings.
Screw piles have many advantages over traditional pilings, such as the speed of installation, little noise and minimal vibration that may cause damage to the surrounding area, no tailing and they can be easily removed and relocated.
A screw pile can resist both tension and compression loads, vertical and lateral wind forces, vibration and shear forces that can be found in many areas. Screw piles are used in situations where resistance to a combination of these forces exist.
Example Applications
Screw piles have the capability to handle various loadings, the screw pile can be used in all of, but not limited to, the following :
? Static loads (e.g. under buildings)
? Alternating & Vibratory loads (e.g. under pumps jacks & compressors)
? Temporary buildings
? Permanent buildings - residential and commercial property
? Foundation repair & underpinning
? Pathways
Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piles are suitable for most construction projects, causing minimum disturbance, they are ideal for noise and environmentally sensitive sites for both load bearing piles and excavation support.
Key benefits of CFA piling:
? Low vibration suitable for piling close to neighbouring buildings
? Suitable for most ground conditions
? Piles constructed using an on-board computer system
? Piles constructed in one pass with depths of up to 28m
? Pile diameters of 300mm to 1200mm.
? Quietest form of piling
? Environmentally friendly
Construction Process
CFA piles are formed using a continuous flight auger. The auger is drilled to the required depth which is hollow stemmed. After reaching the design depth, a high slump concrete is pumped through the hollow stem of the auger using a static concrete pump. The rig operator will monitor the computer for concrete pressure, once there is positive pressure the auger will be extracted at a controlled rate, removing the spoil and forming the pile with concrete. Once the auger is fully extracted a reinforced pile cage will be installed.
